Week 5 Thoughts

A couple thoughts on the early part of Exodus. And yes, at one point I say "Moses' had stolen God's firstborn" when I meant "Egypt had stolen God's firstborn."

Some Thoughts

I always loved the story of Moses (I think because my sister and I loved the Prince of Egypt movie) but definitely read it differently this time. First, because it showed Moses who was used by God to achieve His will and not only was Moses sinful (Ex 2:12) but also that he doubted God could use him (Ex 3:11 and a few other times) but God is greater than our faults.
But I especially loved this book because this explains why bad things happen. God hardened the heart of Pharaoh's heart so He may be glorified (Ex 10:1-2). This is such a beautiful picture of the God who will punish yet a God who is also patient with a doubting servant. He's so complex it's awesome! "A God you can understand is not really a God."

Well said. And a God who can be understood is definitely not worth serving nor worshipping.

Ex 24:42-43 always wear underwear when leading worship?

Haven't tried it, but I think preaching commando would be distracting.
