Week Eight

Leadership transition can be difficult. Especially if the leader in question did things like part the Red Sea and write the Bible. For God's plans to redeem and restore His creation, the transition we'll see this week is second in importance only to Jesus handing the torch to His disciples. I look forward to reading what you notice about the transition (and any other observations or questions about this week's readings).

"Then celebrate the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God by giving a freewill offering in proportion to the blessings the Lord your God has given you. Rejoice before the Lord your God..." Deut 16:10,11b
I meant to post this earlier in the week but first I love how the Lord timed that we should read about tithing right after we heard a sermon on tithing at church. According to this passage, not only is tithing a test but we are to celebrate! It's not a "have to" but a "get to!" We should be rejoicing that the Lord has blessed us with an income to tithe off of! So I'm thinking we should be doing a little jig when we drop that check in the offering bag or clicking that button on the computer. Ha ha, well, maybe not outwardly, that might be too Pharisee-like but at home we can do the Running man, Sprinkler or something, LOL! Thank you Lord that we are an integral part of your plan, help me to remember that any unexpected bills or lack of money is a test of our faith not yours!
